Joan Osborne: Crazy Baby

This one gets me everytime I hear it...I can't believe Joan Osborne is singing it directly to me.

CRAZY BABY by Joan Osborne

(lyris here)

And your hands are really shakin’ somethin’ awful
As you light your twenty-seventh cigarette
Oh, how long have you been sittin’ in the darkness
You forget...

Oh, you know you’re gettin’ really hard to be with
And you’re cryin’ every time you turn around
And you wonder why you cannot pick your head up
Off the ground...

Oh, my crazy baby
Try to hold on tight
Oh, my crazy baby
Don’t put out the light...
The light, the light, the light

And they look at you like they don’t speak your language
And you’re living at the bottom of a well
And you’ve swallowed all the awful bloody secrets
But you can’t tell...

Oh, you know you ought to get yourself together
But you cannot bear to walk outside your door
No, you cannot bear to look into the mirror
Anymore...

Oh, my crazy baby
Try to hold on tight
Oh, my crazy baby
Don’t put out the light...
The light, the light, the light

And your hands are really shakin’ somethin’ awful
As your worries climb around inside your clothes
Oh, how long will you be sittin’ in the darkness
Heaven knows...

Oh, my crazy baby
Try to hold on tight
Oh, my crazy baby
Don’t put out the light...
The light, the light, the light
The light...

-end-

Previously linked to John Mayer and Third Eye Blind rocker Stephan Jenkins, Carlton made the announcement while headlining the Nashville Pride Festival in Tennessee over the weekend.

MISS YOU, PAPANG!

I just cant help but be emotional everytime I hear this song, on this day, and with my lovingly father departed on this earth.

No doubt, one song that fits a day is this Luther Vandross song, Dance with my Father, a song he co-wrote with singer songwriter Richard Marx back in 2003.

To all the Father's out there, Happy Father's Day!

A FOND FAREWELL

A beautiful piece from one of the best kept secret in the music world- ARI HEST.

My mother once told me
The thicker your skin
The better off you'll be when this world brings you down
Well it's trying to control me
And leave me without hope
In the past I've been burned
But I've lived and I've learned

Beneath the shelter of the pouring rain
In the absence of this fear and pain
I will finally bid my ball and chain
A fond farewell

On the road that leads me to my place
I will rid my heart of past disgrace
I will finally bid this sluggish pace
A fond farewell

When I heard their reservations
When I read their bitter words
I shined a light upon their wisdom no matter how absurd
And it broke my heard to pieces
And I questioned my own beliefs
My dignity was gone
But it's time to move on

Chorus

Say goodbye to feeling sorry for myself
To begging others for far too much help
This is my hand, these are the cards that I've been dealt
Only I can make these changes, nobody else
Say goodbye to those sleepless nights
Those corridors with no end in sight
A driven man with these words I write
I'm making peace with my soul tonight

Chorus

SECRETS...

If u were mesmerized by the beautiful sound and heartfelt lyrics of the anthemic hit single Apologize, then you will also like ONE REPUBLIC's new song titled SECRETS - the second track from their latest cd
, Waking Up.

I really love how this group used other instruments like the cello and violin in their songs, which is rarely played in a rock band.

With this video performance, lead singer Ryan Tedder is truly a songwriting genius. And One Republic shown us that they're one of the best bands to date!

FRIEND IS A FOUR LETTER WORD by Cake

This is a great song from CAKE's 1996 hit album Fashion Nugget.

Actually, I had a hard time figuring out what this song was about. But as I keep listening to it, its like a song
about when a girl ended the relationship and says 'we should only be friends' and the guy knows it's over its the end and that nothing will be the same...

cake- friend is a four letter word

Definitely one of the best CAKE's song both lyrically and musically.
