POLLYANNE

Many people only knew Meredith Brooks for the song "Bitch", but they never get to hear her other music such as this one called POLLYANNE, a catchy, guitar based rock song with a thoughtfully honest lyrics.

For me, this is a gem track from her 1997 album Blurring The Edges. Stream the music here:

YOU AND YOUR HEART by Jack Johnson

Another awesome song from acoustic singer-songwriter JACK JOHNSON.

YOU AND YOUR HEART
is the first single from his latest album TO THE SEA. Ive been listening to this cd on repeat and as always, the acoustic vibes are flawless, his vocals are perfect!

A must have for any Jack Johnson lover.

NO ONE LOVES ME LIKE YOU

I'm currently listening to a cd called IF I LEFT THE ZOO by Jars Of Clay. Actually the album was my first exposure to new 'christian rock/aternative music' whatever you want to call it. I bought that one years ago and since then I couldn't get enough.

My favorite track from the cd is No One Loves Me Like You - a bluegrass inspired-ballad with pump organ, mandolin and strong sweet vocals. The lyrics talks about how love can be the most wonderful thing, and how it can be hurt. This song is well done and musically, its superb!

(lyrics here)

Collapsing was much softer
Still falling always hurt
Only after sensing your love
For always ever burned

You justified my folly
My affluent disguise
Removed revealing nothing
Yet nothing unforgiven lies
Unforgiven lies

No one loves me like you
No one loves me the way you do
No one loves me like you
No one loves me the way, the way that you do

To touch the rose unfearful
Is to meet the thorn
And pierce the heart's emotion
And feel the emptiness no more
Emptiness no more

Took some time to realize I've fallen

Anyway, the whole album is great. To anyone that loves music and God, I truly recommend this one. =0

THE LINES OF MY EARTH

Best known for the ubiquitous pop smash "Kiss Me", frontwoman Leigh Nash and the rest of Sixpence None The Richer are all set to do a major comeback in the music scene.

The band's forthcoming new record Strange Conversation was originally slated for an August 24 release, however it has been changed to early next year.

For the mean time, listen to this track titled The Lines Of My Earth, a cut from their 1997 self titled album.

LIKE LA ROUX!

South London synth pop trio LA ROUX are blowing up my mind with their addictive first single Bulletproof. The song is a catchy, 1970's disco mixed with 1980's electro. Think the attitude of Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive with a slight hint of Depeche Mode's new wave sound. It was well received by music critics, and debuted at #01 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was also a hit in the US peaking at #08 on the US Billboard Hot 1oo.

And not to forget, I really like the vocalist Elly Jackson. I find her style, voice and lyrics absolutely artistic and beautiful!

Shania Twain as next 'American Idol' judge?

Country superstar Shania Twain has become the latest star rumored to be in talks to join the judging panel of American Idol (as we all know Simon Cowell left the show to concentrate in the upcoming X Factor, host Ellen De Generes quit and Kara Dioguardi was fired).

Last season on Idol, Twain served as a mentor for the contestants and guest judge and reportedly a hit with Idol fans. So if no deal is settled on another judge, she maybe the first in line to fill in one of the missing spots.

Personally, she's a good choice to be one of the judge. Aside from being one of first country artist to achieve major crossover success in pop music, Twain is a five-time Grammy award winner with a multiplatinum selling album worldwide. Her 1997 album Come On Over become the best selling album of all time by a female artist and the best selling country album of all time.

Check out some of the best tracks in that album:

MAN I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN shania is one of the few artists out there whose speaking voice is identical to her singing voice...this song rocks!

I WONT LEAVE YOU LONELY
i feel like listening to The Police song!...great track!

YOU'RE STILL THE ONE two icons in one classic song!...amazing!

ENRIQUE IGLESIAS: I LIKE IT!

Super hot Latino ENRIQUE IGLESIAS is back with a new album, EUPHORIA and a new hit single titled I LIKE IT. The synth-driven dance pop track interpolates Lionel Richie's 1983 classic "All Night Long (All night)" as well as featuring the vocals of Cuban rapper Pitbull.

The song has become a top ten hit in a number of countries, such as United Kingdom, Australia, Spain and the United States, where it reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Enrique's first top five hit in nearly eight years, the last being 2001's "Hero" which peaked at #03.

The song is also included on the official soundtrack to MTV reality series Jersey Shore.

Enrique Iglesias proves that at age 35, there is still a lot of life in him as an international pop star! =O

You Can Always Come Home...

I followed Jason Castro through his American Idol journey and loved his easygoing sound. Wish he would have made it further, but turns out he didn't need the show to get his music going.

His debut album The Love Uncompromised shows something original about his voice and its very enjoyable to listen. The record sounds natural and presents Jason as a folk, pop singer songwriter. Hate to compare though but he's like the boy version of Colbie Caillat.

Below is one of my favorite track from the album titled You Can Always Come Home featuring Serena Ryder.

YOU CAN ALWAYS COME HOME

I don’t think he deserves you
I’m gonna come right out and say it
Even though I hardly know you at all
That’s what makes this so hard
‘Cause I remember he hurt you
Told you he didn’t have the time
To see you or even answer your calls
After breaking your heart
I know it barely even started but I fully believe
You could have been the one for me
And I miss what we might have had
Honey, I miss what we could have done
I wrote a sad song about it and I’m still pretty bitter
But I’m happy if you’re happy he won
And I still miss you in the night and I want you to know
If he leaves you cold in the city, aching for a lover
Honey, you can always come home

Oh, do you ever stop to think
That he did it to you once
Oh, he’s probably gonna do it again?
Or do you defend that he’s an angel of virtue?
He made a mistake and it cost him what he loved
But he knows he’s done, he’s sorry for it now
Well, he’s never gonna leave you again
Well, maybe you’re right but I still believe
That you could have been the one for me
And I miss what we might of had
Honey, I miss what we could have done
I wrote a sad song about it and I’m still pretty bitter
But I’m happy if you’re happy he won
And I still miss you in the night and I want you to know
If he leaves you cold in the city, aching for a lover
Honey, you can always come home

If he leaves you cold in the city and you’re begging for a lover
Honey, you can always come home

LIVE LIVE LIVE!!!

Once upon a time in the 90's, long before the curse of Britney Spears and cheesy boybands that plagued the airwaves, a rock band called LIVE produced a cd called THROWING COPPER. And up to this day, still remains as one my favorite rock album of all time.

If you've never listened to them before, or are not sure who they are, i bet that you have heard their music somewhere on the radio and would recognize it quickly when you popped in the cd. Live is one of those bands that is usually a staple
to many radio stations (not just rock stations either). And Throwing Copper is usually the first CD lined up in their arsenal.

Let me just say this: Any body willing to call themselves a fan of 90's alternative rock would not be complete without a copy of this one. Give it a listen and you will be amazed.

SELLING THE DRAMA one of the best track in the album, truly a rock anthem in that era

ALL OVER YOU "Pay me now!...Lay me down!"...LUV IT!

LIGHTNING CRASHES
a beautifully written rock ballad...for me this is epic!

I ALONE ed kowalzyk never fails to amaze me...he is a god!

IN GOD'S HAND

Listen to Nelly Furtado's collaboration with country superstar Keith Urban, the song titled In God's Hand. Originally, a solo version from her LOOSE album, she re-recorded it with Urban to released as a digital single in 2008. It quite an unlikely pairing but it surprisingly works!

Their voices flow so well together and it really give me
shivers everytime i hear it!

in god's hand

Furtado's fifth studio album LIFESTYLE is set to released later this year. =O
